FAQs

Q. How do I arrange to visit the school?

A. Telephone the school office for an appointment to meet the Headmaster. A school viewing can be arranged at any point during the school day.

Q Do you have Open Days?

A. Yes. Our Open Days are in October, January, April and June.

Q. Do you offer scholarships and bursaries

A. Yes. Scholarship examinations are held in November. All scholarships are offered on merit. Bursaries are offered to the families of candidates who have qualified for admission and have modest means. An assessment of means is conducted by the finance department on a strictly confidential basis.

Q. Do you play sport?

A. Yes. We play football, cricket, softball, tennis, badminton, basketball, volleyball and table tennis. All boys have two sessions of sport/PE each week. The boys also swim and take part in cross country and athletics. The school has a growing list of fixtures against local schools.

Q. What are the school hours?

A. 8.45 a.m. to 3.55 p.m. with activities from 4.10 p.m. to 4.55 p.m.

Q. On average, how many students are there in each class?

A. Our Year 7 to Year 11 classes have approximately 18 students. Year 12 and Year 13 classes seldom exceed 6 students.

Q. Do you offer two foreign languages?

A. Yes, French and German to GCSE and A level.

Q. Do you teach separate sciences?

A. Yes. Chemistry, Biology and Physics are taught as individual subjects from Year 9 to GCSE and at A Level.
