Years 7 - 11
Year groups are divided into parallel forms of 10-16 pupils. The form teacher is responsible for the general development of his or her pupils and is the day-to-day link between home and school.
Boys usually remain in these forms throughout their years at Buckingham. This encourages the growth of strong friendships, which often continue long after they leave the school.
The Sixth Form
The 6th Form (Years 12-13) includes young women as well as young men. It occupies a separate building on campus, with a common room, a library and a teacher-supervised study area. To prepare students for the independence of university life, we run an honour system, so that those students who maintain high standards of work are permitted to organise their own study time.

Prefects and Monitors
Senior Students in Years 11-13 can earn appointment as prefects and monitors, contributing greatly to leadership within the school. Organised by the Head Boy and his deputies, their responsibilities include a variety of weekly duties, as well as running house activities and setting a good example to their fellow students.
The House system
Every student also belongs to one of four houses: Carthage, Greek, Spartan or Trojan. He can win points for his house by working hard (earning merit cards) and by competing in the many sports competitions throughout the year.
